NOTE:
Currently, ONLY ONE educational program of Surgut State University is available in the English language -  General Medicine. All other programs are only available in Russian.

There are no Russian language preparatory courses in Surgut State University.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR ADMISSION OFFICE

  •  An international PASSPORT with a translation into Russian (the translation is certified by a Russian notary or the Consular Department of the Russian Embassy in the host country). The passport must be valid for at least 1.5 more years.

    • A document of previous education (including a grade sheet) with apostille. The document must be translated into Russian (the translation is certified by a Russian notary or the Consular Department of the Russian Embassy in the host country). 

    • Photos 3x4 - 8 pcs. (coloured or black and white).

    • For applicants to full-time and part-time education - medical certificates:
      - a vaccination certificate for vaccinations against measles, diphtheria, tuberculosis;
      - a certificate of absence of HIV infection;
      - a certificate of the results of the fluorographic examination.

    • Certificate of recognition of a foreign education (except in cases where recognition of the document is not required).

    step 3. TEST AND RESULTS

    DATES OF EXAMS AND ENROLLMENT ORDER

    Applicants must take entrance tests. These tests are conducted by the Surgut State University independently online on Moodle platform.


    1) ACCEPTANCE OF APPLICATIONS AND DOCUMENTS (MAIN STAGE):

    • The start date for accepting applications and documents is June 20, 2026;
    • The day of completion of applications and documents from applicants for training with the passing of entrance examinations is August 12, 2026.

    2) CONDUCTING ENTRANCE TESTS (MAIN STAGE):

    • The day of the beginning of the entrance tests is June 23, 2026;
    • The day of completion of the entrance tests is August 14, 2026;


    3) ENROLLMENT (MAIN STAGE):

    • Publication of the competition lists – August 17, 2026;
    • The date of completion of the education agreement is August 19, 2026;
    • The issuance of The Enrollment Orders is on August 21, 2026.


    ADDITIONAL ADMISSION

    Additional admission campaign at the university is the second wave of the admission campaign, which is conducted if there are vacant places after the main stage of enrollment.

    1) ACCEPTANCE OF APPLICATIONS AND DOCUMENTS (ADDITIONAL ADMISSION):

    • The start date for accepting applications and documents is August 12, 2026;
    • The day of completion of applications and documents from applicants for training with the passing of entrance examinations is August 20, 2026.


    2) CONDUCTING ENTRANCE TESTS (ADDITIONAL ADMISSION):

    • The day of the beginning of the entrance tests is August 14, 2026;
    • The day of completion of the entrance tests is August 21, 2026.

    3) ENROLLMENT (ADDITIONAL ADMISSION):

    • Publication of the competition lists – August 22, 2026;
    • The deadline for submitting consent for enrollment is August 28 , 2026;
    • The issuance of enrollment orders is on August 29, 2026.

    step 4. GET INVITED

    As soon as you are enrolled in the university, the International Department of the SurGU prepares an official invitation for a single-entry visa, as well as an admission letter.

    step 5. visa and arrival

    At this stage, you need to prepare all the documents for the visa. Once you have a full documents set (including invitation), apply to embassy or consulate of Russia in your country. After passing an interview, submit payment of a student visa fee. The student visa turnaround time is 2-3 weeks.

    1. Are language tests, such as IELTS or TOEFL, required for English programs?

    — Surgut State University does not require language tests for English programs. However, international applicants, who decided to study an educational program in Russian, must provide a certificate of proficiency in the Russian language.

    2. Is an entrance exam needed? When and where can I take it?

    — Yes, entrance exams are obligatory. Applicants, who chose General Medicine, should pass Chemistry and Biology exams. International applicants take the exams online on Moodle platform. Minimal score for both exams - 40/100.

    3. What are the application deadlines, and when should I register?

    — You can find the application deadlines on the official website.

    4. Are scholarships or financial aid options available for international students?

    — No, Surgut State University does not provide international students with scholarships or financial aid. 

    5. What student support services are offered for new international students?

    — International Department of Surgut State University gladly helps international students. Our tasks are:
    1. Migration control (registration, visas, fingerprinting procedure, etc.);
    2. Provision of translation of all official documents;
    3. Accompanying students at all mass events, interpretation services;
    4. Support of international students in all spheres;
    5. Consultation.
