Upon your arrival at SurGU, you will be housed in one of the rooms in the Student Dormitory.
Currently, Surgut State University student dormitories are a large facility including a number of well-equipped multi-storey buildings. It's a place to live for over 700 bachelor, masters and postgraduate students. The apartment-type dormitories comprised of one- and two-bedroom apartments were designed for comfortable living. All rooms are equipped with full set of modern commodities such as Internet connection, electricity and running water.
The University pays enough attention to students’ security. Dormitory staff makes all efforts to ensure comfortable and safe living for non-resident students, who are usually required to show their passes to gain entry. CCTV cameras located around the dormitories and allow the security officers to monitor the apartments 24 hours a day. The dorms are equipped with fire alarms and PA systems which also send a signal output to the central control office.
The doors of Surgut State University are open to all who want to study here, regardless of the origin or place of residence.

RULES OF
STUDENT ACCOMMODATION
Residents of the dormitory have the right to:
- live in the assigned rooms for the entire period of stay, subject to compliance with these Rules;
- use the equipment, inventory of the dormitory, as well as public utilities;
use household appliances and personal household appliances in compliance with safety regulations and fire safety regulations.
Residents of the dormitory are obliged to:
- comply with the requirements of these Rules;
- undergo training on fire safety, safety precautions for the operation of household electrical appliances, household radio equipment and get to know the established procedure for using personal household electrical appliances;
- inform the administrator (commandant) of the dormitory about a fire, accident, burst pipes or any other emergency situations in order to take the necessary measures;
- when checking in, indicate condition of the room in the administrator’s (commandant’s) journal, and when checking out, leave the room in the same condition;
- at the end of the established period of stay, vacate the room and return the key to the dormitory administrator;
- comply with the requirements of safety regulations, fire safety and rules of operation of electrical appliances;
- ensure unhindered access for dormitory administration representatives to the rooms to check their sanitary and technical condition;
- avoid conflict situations, comply with the requirements of generally accepted moral and ethical standards of behavior and maintain an atmosphere of goodwill, cooperation and mutual respect;
- take care of the premises, equipment, inventory of the dormitory, furniture, household appliances and other items, and use energy and water sparingly;
- be responsible for the cleanliness of your room and common areas;
- clean up half-eaten food, garbage, food waste, turn off electrical appliances;
- close windows and doors, turn off the lights when leaving the room last;
- the curator is required to stay in the dormitory building with the students until 22 o'clock for the duration of the stay;
- the curator is responsible for the vital activity of the residents, their actions, in case of damage to property, to compensate for the damage caused;
observe complete silence from 23:00 to 07:00.
Residents of the dormitory are prohibited from:
- entering the dormitory without identification documents;
- smoking in the dormitory, on balconies;
- bringing, storing and drinking alcoholic beverages (including beer), being intoxicated;
- playing cards and other gambling games;
- using, storing and distributing toxic and narcotic substances;
- moving from one room to another without permission;
- transferring dormitory property from one room to another without permission;
- throwing garbage through windows, leaving it on tables, in sinks or toilets;
- sticking posters, drawing, staining the walls in the rooms;
- using faulty, homemade or unauthorized electrical appliances;
- making noise, as well as turning on sound reproducing equipment at a power exceeding the audibility within the room;
- being rude with the service staff.
Responsibility for violation of Internal Regulations
For violation of these Rules, public and disciplinary measures may be applied to residents upon the recommendation of the dormitory administration in accordance with the current legislation of the Russian Federation.
Residents may be evicted from the dormitory for violating the established Rules of Accommodation, including for:
- smoking in the dormitory, on balconies;
- improper use of residential premises;
- destruction or damage to residential premises;
- systematic violation by residents of the rights and legitimate interests of neighbors, which makes it impossible to live together in the same room;
- theft of other people's property;
- appearance in the dormitory in a state of alcoholic or narcotic intoxication.
The dormitory administration is not responsible for the valuables of the residents, who have discovered the loss, shortage or damage of their valuables, immediately inform the curator and the police.
